We all know that the DC education system has a history of failing our children. Positive changes are now being made. Part of these changes should be to ensure every child has access to quality pre-kindergarten. Decades of research shows that high-quality pre-k prepares children for school success.

The Pre-K for All DC Campaign is fighting to bring high-quality pre-k to all children so that they can a good start in school and in life.

Yet, roughly 2,000 children lack access to quality pre-k and over 80% of existing programs do not meet national quality standards.

In late November, DC Council Chairman Vince Gray is set to introduce legislation that will expand pre-k to cover all children and improve the quality of many existing programs.

The Pre-K for All DC Campaign is currently engaged in a multi-faceted effort to inform the public about the legislation and to mobilize public support.

Volunteer with me on the weekend of November 10 or 11 to go door to door spreading the pre-k message.
